Miner optioned to Triple-A by Tigers
Right-hander sent down; Lopez recalled to bigs on Wednesday

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Tigers optioned pitcher Zach Miner to Triple-A Toledo and recalled Aquilino Lopez prior to Wednesday's game against the Twins. Lopez will be in Minneapolis and in uniform for the contest.
Miner had a 4.23 ERA in 32 appearances this season. He walked four batters in Tuesday's game against Minnesota, drawing the ire of manager Jim Leyland. Miner had allowed 12 baserunners in his last three appearances.
Lopez had a 2-1 record and a 2.67 ERA in 23 appearances with the Tigers earlier this season. He was optioned to Toledo on June 15 following reliever Fernando Rodney's activation from the disabled list.

He was doing pretty good though...He'll be back before we know it....unless we trade him for CC...

| Nate gives up 6 ER in 4 innings and Miner gives up 0 ER in 2 innings. Yeah, send down Miner and keep Robertson! That makes sense!

Actually probably 4 times worse or so. was a big part of Tigers history. Miller, despite SoulCat's love, was only a Tiger for a little while. Miner goes back years.

| Today is still one of the saddest days in the history of the organization - sadder than the day Ty Cobb, Sam Crawford, Charlie Gehringer, Hal Newhouser, and Hank Greenberg all died when Tiger Stadium collapsed.

I think they're going to try Miner out as a starter since that was Lopez' role in Toledo. Miner will be a better starter than Bonine!
