DENNY BAUTISTA, FRANCIS BELTRAN, JASON GRILLI, AQUILINO LOPEZ, ZACH MINER, and BOBBY SEAY have still done well. The others have suffered due to our "great" pitching coaches having the guys learn different things or change the way they pitch. Of course this messes them up.
If you look at ther stats, they started out ok, and have started allowing runs while they work on their pitches. I just hope they hone in on their new skills when the season begins.

yes i am a tigers fan. but that doesnt mean you have to like every player on the team. not a fan of most of the pitching and the catching.

Rodney to see specialist for shoulder By JOHN LOWE • FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER • April 14, 2008
Tigers right-hander Fernando Rodney will have his still-ailing shoulder examined by Dr. James Andrews, the most famous physician for treating pitchers with arm and shoulder ailments.
Andrews has operated on many pitchers. Will Rodney need surgery? That won’t be known until sometime after Andrews examines Rodney. The exam is set for Wednesday, Tigers head athletic trainer Kevin Rand said today.
Rand said the club decided to send Rodney to see Dr. Andrews after Rodney had another setback today in his attempt to come back from the shoulder trouble that has caused him to miss all of spring training and the regular season to this point.
“Fernando threw another side session today (in Florida), but he still isn’t able to get over the hump,” Rand said. “He still isn’t able to extend and get out there and finish.
“So he’s going to go see Dr. Andrews on Wednesday. Then we’ll wait to hear from Dr. Andrews.”
The club has proceeded cautiously with Rodney’s rehabilitation efforts. He has remained at the club’s spring-training home in Lakeland, Fla., and has thrown several times in the last few weeks - sometimes with progress, other times with little or no progress.
Exams of Rodney’s ailing shoulder have shown no major damage.
“We’ve gone the conservative route from the medication standpoint and trying to build up his arm strength,” Rand said. “He hasn’t been able to carry that over to the mound at this point. So it’s time to have him re-examined.”
(IMHO, this should've been done last fall!!!!) _________________ There are three things in my life which I really love: God, my family, and baseball. The only problem - once baseball season starts, I change the order around a bit. ~Al Gallagher, 1971

we need Rodney back soon, kinda bad i think, we shouldnt have to depend on our offense like that, we should be able to get a lead, and lock it up with a supportive pen _________________ "Contrary to what everybody else thinks, I still think I can come back and help this team."

When i read this John Lowe article i don't think we will get Rodney back anytime soon.
Don't count on him. This is no good news at all. Especially stuff like

Truthfully, I don't like Rodney. I think he's got a bad attitude and I can't stand the way he wears his hat. I am a straight hat kind of girl. I have been known (after I've had some liquid courage) to tell a guy or two to straighten their hat. Have respect for the team, the sport and the uniform.
I know alot of people think its crazy, but then again...

He could wear his hat like a rally cap if he would be extremely dominant on the mound. _________________ "I'm on a mission. Mark my words: I'll be back, and I'll be able to do what I've been doing." Joel Zumaya

I don't think it is crazy at all. Young people today show very little respect for themselves as well as others. 'Nando has always just rubbed me the wrong way.

Bad parenting. Children repeat what or what not they are taught.

Now in days, too many perverts. Then again, thinking back, we had our share of pervert teachers! I had one who had a wooden paddle and used it mainly to spank girls in short skirts! He always had them bend over before spanking them!. I was so happy when he was fired!
But overall, it is worse today and the kids that just need a warm human hug suffer the most!

Have there been any updates on where Rodney is headed with his arm? I'm beginning to fear he is done for good. (I don't like him all that much but I would hate to see his career ended.)

Rodney makes 2008 debut 6/3/08
Reliever Fernando Rodney made his first appearance of the 2008 season Tuesday night, pitching two innings in Triple-A Toledo's 6-2 victory at Louisville.
Rodney allowed no runs, one hit, two walks, and had a strikeout. He missed time because of tendinitis in his right (throwing) arm last season and had a recurrence in spring training.
"He got 'em out," Toledo manager Larry Parrish said. "His command wasn't sharp, but his changeup is still there -- great changeup." Rodney's fastball topped out at 94 mph and consistently was timed at 93 mph.
Apart from Rodney's performance, the Tigers got two home runs and five RBIs from Brent Clevlen .
Rodney will continue to pitch in the minors ahead of an anticipated call-up by the Tigers. Lynn Henning
