Dan Uggla's agent has launched a warning flare, going on record as saying the All-Star second baseman would balk at being moved to another position if traded. Even though Uggla would have no real leverage, that revelation could have a chilling effect on teams interested in trading for Uggla and turning him into either a third baseman or outfielder.

Way back in 2006 was the 2006 amateur draft.

Let's take a look at how the top pitchers are doing so far in 2008:

1. Luke Hochevar, RHP - Kansas City. First pick.

He's made 1 start and gave up 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings for a 11.57 ERA.

2. Greg Reynolds, RHP - Colorado Rockies. Second pick.

Yet to make the majors. 6.33 ERA in AAA this season. ERA less than 2 in AA last year but just 50 IP. He must have been hurt or something.

3. Brad Lincoln, RHP - Pittsburgh Pirates. Fourth ...

Homers help Miller to first win

Ramirez, Jacobs go deep in opening frame to back lefty

By Joe Frisaro / MLB.com

ATLANTA -- Home run totals keep rising for the upstart Marlins.

Hanley Ramirez and Mike Jacobs each went deep in the first inning, providing Andrew Miller with enough support to hold off the Braves, 7-2, on Wednesday night in front of 19,852 at Turner Field.

For the season, the first-place Marlins now have 32 homers in 21 games. Jacobs ...

It had the feel of a support group meeting more than it did anything strategic.

After Andrew Miller gave up a double and a walk to start Friday's game against the Nationals, the entire infield joined him near the mound for an early chat.

It appeared this 22-year-old from Gainesville with three year's worth of a University of North Carolina education needed a reminder that he was pretty good. Or at least that he could ...

Marlins reinstate catcher Rabelo

04/10/2008 11:16 PM ET

By Joe Frisaro / MLB.com

WASHINGTON -- When the Marlins get into their hotel in Houston in preparation for a three-game series with the Astros, they will be joined by catcher Mike Rabelo.

After the Marlins edged the Nationals, 4-3, on Thursday night, the team announced that Rabelo was being reinstated off the 15-day disabled list, where he had been recovering from a left knee sprain.

To make room for Rabelo, ...

By Joe Frisaro / MLB.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Burke Badenhop impressed in Spring Training, and he dazzled in his first Double-A start.

Based on his strong showings, the Marlins wasted little time promoting the 25-year-old right-hander to the big leagues.

Badenhop will join the Marlins on Monday in Washington, and he will join the rotation either on Friday or Sunday.

A need for a starter surfaced on Sunday ...

Miller looks to bounce back vs. Nats

04/06/2008 8:10 PM ET

By Joe Frisaro / MLB.com

It's not the official grand opening, but it is Florida's first visit to another new stadium.

After finishing up their homestand at 3-3 on Sunday, the Marlins will take on the Washington Nationals on Monday night at Nationals Park.

The Marlins will send 22-year-old left-hander Andrew Miller to the mound in hopes of getting the road trip off to a good start.

Marlins send Cameron Maybin to minors

Associated Press

JUPITER, Fla. -- Cameron Maybin will start the season in the minors for the Florida Marlins.

One of baseball's top prospects and a centerpiece of the trade that sent Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera to Detroit in December, the 20-year-old Maybin was optioned to Double-A Carolina on Monday after going 0-for-5 during Florida's 10-10 tie with the Houston Astros in 10 innings.

Maybin went hitless in his final ...
