Hello to everyone! tiger This is gogetemtigers. The name is from the old Tiger theme song.

I have been posting here, but missed the introductions section. Sorry.

I've been a Tigers fan over 40 years (I know, an old timer) and have seen many great, and not so great, players come and go.

I love our current team!

I go by Tigers1977 on the MLB Tigers board. It would not let me have this many letters in my name there (boo, hiss)grouch

I grew up in Garden City, MI and saw several games in Tiger Stadium.

I now live in eastern Ohio and watch all the Tiger games on MLB.com, but just had to see them and Comerica, so I took a vacation this year to attend some games! I loved it. baseball Since I live 60 miles from Pittsburgh, everyone here thinks I should be a Pirates fan. No way. (Or even worse an Indians fan) But as you all know, once a Tiger fan, always a Tigers fan!!!

As Tigersaint knows, one of my all time fav is Mark Fidrich

Speaking of Petry...remember when Milt Wilcox almost had a perfect game? Good thing I wasn't alive, I'd have probably hung myself...

I actually SAW Joe Niekro's ONE-HITTER against the Yankees.

It was a Monday night in like 1971 or so. Stupid Horace Clark legs out an infield hit with one out in the 9th inning.....DOH!!

That would suck! That's kind of like John Maine's one-hitter. The THIRD STRING catcher hits it about 10 feet down the third base line. You knew that would happen, Maine's a Met. That reminds me of a great line:

(John Maine was pitching well...having allowed just a few hits...this was 2 years ago)

Mets Announcer 1:John Maine is really looking sharp tonight.
Mets Announcer 2:Yeah he is. He's got no-hit stuff out there.
Mets Announcer 1:No he doesnt...he's a Met!

But the Mets were great at one time, my favorite Met will always be "Tom Terrific" Seaver!

George Thomas Seaver (born November 17, 1944) is a former right-handed Major League Baseball pitcher who broke into the major leagues in 1967 and retired in 1987. He played for four different teams in his career, but is primarily associated with the New York Mets. Nicknamed "Tom Terrific" and "The Franchise", Seaver had 311 wins, 3,640 strikeouts and a 2.86 ERA during a 20-year career. In 1992 he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
He won the National League Rookie of the Year Award and three Cy Young Awards as the league's best pitcher. As the Mets' all-time leader in wins, Seaver is considered one of the greatest players in club history, as well as one of the best starting pitchers in the history of baseball.
