2009 MLB Free Agents

Presenting...your 2009 free agent class. It's fun to look ahead, even if many of these guys will be off the market a year from now. Just to clarify, the

I'll take the same player I've wanted on the Tigers for the last 4 years or so...
Mark Teixeira. Move Cabrera to DH, [scratch]kill[/scratch] do something with Sheffield (e.g., pay him for doing nothing!) and voila! Much better team. Teixeira can hit AND play defense. He's a left-handed bat which we need but to sweeten the deal he swings both ways (that's not some perverted joke).

Oh yeah, we'll take Maddux, too Big Smile

Is this an abnormal amount of players for next year? Seems like an awful lot....

Any good catchers there? If not, we will probably see Dane Sardinha or Nick Trzesniak in Detroit.

I agree, and I think he wants to stay. Salary is a big problem. He is no longer worth that much money. Take less Pudge!

I think Pudge knows he's not going to land a big dollar contract. I think he will re-sign with the Tigers at a lower salary if it means extending his career.

And yesterday showed that, if rested, Pudge is still one heck of a good hitter! He had a triple, two singles and a BB! He was ON BASE every time he batted!

And he is no slouch behind home plate either!
