| This is one of the most groundbreaking examples of stop-motion animation in history. It's pre-Code, too! _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

| Well that was kind of fun. This movie was pretty stupid but it was still fun to watch. Here's a review:
As I just said, this movie was pretty cool. I'm not a big science fiction/ horror/ monster movie fan, but this is one of the earliest and most famous movies that fits all those genres. For those that know absolutely nothing about anything, King Kong tells the story of a giant gorilla. More stuff happens, but that's a good enough summary. The plot was pretty stupid but fun at the same time. While watching the movie it didn't really matter that the plot was so incredibly unrealistic and simple.
This movie stars Fay Wray and some other people. The star of course is Kong who is nothing but a puppet or something like that. As for the actual actors, they're nothing special. Fay Wray pretty much does nothing but scream the entire second half of this film. The other actors are okay, too I guess but nothing great. Calling the acting average is probably being a little generous. It didn't really matter though, that's not what this film was about.
Basically, this film takes an average at best plot with acting that's no better than mediocre and turns it into a pretty good movie. The special effects in this movie are phenomenal considering it was made in 1933. While the stop-animation did look fake, it didn't look that fake. You know how it's done while watching, but if you can look past that you can almost feel like this was really happening. Not quite, but almost. Despite the fact almost everything about this movie is stupid, it doesn't matter. If you look past all the flaws it's actually quite fun.
80/100 B-
UP NEXT: I don't know. The other two movies I wanted to watch this weekend both run over three hours and I'm not sure I'm in the mood for a movie that long. We'll see. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

| Kind of like Superman 2 Movie I was watching on CBC last night.
Too bad they edited the part at the end where Clark Kent beats up that trucker [ who beat him earlier in the movie when he gave up his Superman Powers because he was in love with Lois]
I like when he slides him across the diner counter, landing him in the pin ball machine.
CBC Sucks for editing it |

Yeah, it is kind of annoying. She lived to be like 96 but didn't really star in anything else worth noting. She never won an Oscar and was never nominated.
I don't think I'd scream if he was after me anyways - I'm not really a screamer.
Oh yeah, gs's score has been logged. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

No, don't climb a tree! That one idiot tried that in the movie and he died quick. Why would you climb a tree? Once you get up high you're screwed. You can't go anywhere because you're up in a tree. You can't get down quickly because you're too high up and will hurt yourself or die. All you can do is sit there while some giant thing goes after you and now you're at the same altitude as its head. That guy deserved to die for his sheer stupidity. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

If Kong can climb the Empire State Building, what makes you think he can't climb a tree |

Yeah and the tree wasn't even that high. The creature that killed the guy in the tree (I think it was one of the dinosaurs) didn't have to climb or anything. It just ate the guy right out of the tree. It didn't have to move its head up or down - the guy climbed so that he was at the same level as the creature's head. Now that's smart _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

I haven't seen it yet. I tend to penalize remakes heavily so it will have to be quite impressive for me to say it's better. So far I've only seen one remake that is better than the original (the 1941 version of The Maltese Falcon is vastly superior to the almost unknown 1931 and 1936 versions).
