I can't take thinking about the plight of our Tigers any more so I'll switch to something else. Time to see Psycho _________________ Coming soon: A better signature!

This is a horror flick. These are usually quite simple to grade - take 50 points away before you start and then penalize from there and see how low of an F it can get.
This is not a usual horror film....
WOW! This is the first horror film I've ever seen that wasn't horrendous. In fact, it was not only not horrendous but it was good.
The plot was pretty good and there weren't dozens of killings in this film - the only deaths were deaths that were essential to the plot. This felt more like a mystery or detective story than some pointless horror story.
The acting was pretty good although it was nothing overly spectacular.
The shower scene. This scene is legendary so I'll take a moment to discuss it. Wow - I was not expecting that. I mean I knew what it was but it came out of nowhere. I was not expecting it at that point in the film at all. I don't want to give away too much plot, but the way it was done was pretty surprising.
Then there's the sound. This movie has probably the best use of sound I have ever heard in a movie. Absolutely phenomenal.
This movie is very good. I'd say it's the best horror film I've ever seen, but that, while true, isn't saying much at all. This is much better than that.
90/100 A-

I had to see it twice to get all the nuances, but it was good! _________________ There are three things in my life which I really love: God, my family, and baseball. The only problem - once baseball season starts, I change the order around a bit. ~Al Gallagher, 1971

Rewatch a movie? I've got so many movies to watch for the first time! It'll be years before I can rewatch the good ones.
I wish I would have realized I like movies a while ago. UCLA and USC are generally regarded as 2 of the greatest, if not the greatest, film schools in the world - I would love to take a class in history of cinema from UCLA's but alas, I have to graduate in September and I'm already enrolled in excess units every quarter from now until September. Sticking around an extra quarter would force me to sign a 1 year lease on my apartment for $895....I'm not sure that class is worth $10,740. Oh well, when I move on to my next school I'll take it there. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature!
