| You can reply to this if you want or post your own lists. I'm just making this so I don't forget what I'm going to watch.
This is in order for the most part although it's subject to change slightly.
- Once Upon a Time in the West - TBD
- Anatomy of a Murder - TBD
- How Green Was My Valley -TBD
- In the Heat of the Night -TBD
- Lawrence of Arabia -TBD
- The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari - TBD
That's all I have scheduled for now. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature!

| I'm looking over the AFI's list of the greatest films and there's one that is 5th/7th depending on which version of that list you look at...
Lawrence of Arabia
Anyone seen that? It's close to 4 hours long and the nearly 5 minute trailer which is available here doesn't really tell me much of anything. Wikipedia says this film has no women which is kind of odd.
Is this worth the 4 hours it takes to watch? _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

| More thoughts...
Is Lauren Bacall any good? I was looking through the DVDs on Amazon.com and there's a Bogart and Bacall box set that looks half decent. They (wikipedia) say Bacall is a good film noir actress so I'm interested. The box set, $31 on Amazon or $29 on Overstock, includes The Big Sleep, Dark Passage, Key Largo, and To Have and To Have Not. $15 a movie doesn't seem too bad.
There's also the Bogart Signature Collection Volumes 1 and 2 which have more films (there's no overlap between the 3 sets) at an even lower price per movie (although there are more movies and therefore higher costs).
I have a ton of change at home and my bank sucks and pretends like they won't take it half the time or my other bank charges me. I might take it to a coinstar machine next time I go home - if you get an Amazon gift card they don't charge you. I could find tons of DVDs on Amazon to buy _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

| This list is no longer being updated by me apparently
BUT....
Any thoughts on these films? I might give them a try:
- Lawrence of Arabia
- The Sting (kind of new
)
- King Kong (the original of course!)
- West Side Story (a musical....
)

| The Petrified Forest - TBD Sunset Boulevard - TCM 10/28 8:00PM Citizen Kane - TCM 7/27 3:30AM Harvey - TCM 9/4 4:00PM The Hustler - TBD Dial M for Murder
The next two are the top rated Martin and Lewis movies at IMDB. Although not highly rated (6.6 and 6.5) I want to give them a chance. Also, I don't want to just watch whatever catbox watches. I think I might like comedies better anyways. 7. The Stooge - TBD 8. You're Never Too Young - TBD _________________

Gloria Swanson is so good in that movie it's not even funny. Probably the best acting I've ever seen. Biggest robbery in history that she didn't when best actress...either that or How Green Was My Valley winning best picture over Citizen Kane. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

Pretty good for a musical? That's possible?
I haven't forgot 12 Angry Men - I set up a reminder at TCM.com. I think it plays next month. I won't forget! I have a ton of DVDs to watch but if I run out before TCM shows it I'll just watch it online somewhere. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

This is in order for the most part although it's subject to change slightly.
- Das Boot

- Goodbye, Mr. Chips
- The Uninvited

Have you watched "Das Boot" already? I love this movie! Awesome atmosphere. I think there is a normal version that was shown in theaters and a very extended version that was on TV in multiple parts. _________________ "I'm on a mission. | Here's my list of ones I'd like to see again:
1. War of the Worlds (early 50s version) 2. The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938, Warner Bros., Erroll Flynn) 3. Olympia (1936, directed by Leni Riefenstahl. I studied it in graduate school and would like to just watch it!) more as I think of them... _________________ There are three things in my life which I really love: God, my family, and baseball. Probably not for a few reasons:
- It's too new
- It's a comedy
- It's an R-rated comedy
- It won 0 Academy Awards
- It was nominated for 0 Academy Awards
- It won no major awards
- It was nominated for no major awards
- It couldn't even win an MTV movie award

It is such an enjoyable experience. This was one of the first movies made in Technicolor, but so many copies have been remastered and redigitalized that the color might be a little more believable. The costumes were TERRIFIC. This was hardly an earthy story, their costumes looked a little too clean and neat! but the gowns and headdresses were simply lovely. You will especially enjoy Olivia de Havilland's performance as Maid Marian. And Basil Rathbone definitely has Alan Rickman beat out on evil-ness as the Sheriff of Notingham. Flynn did all of his own stunts as well. You will see a shot where he is trying to mount a horse as they are escaping Nottingham Castle that is totally in the moment and real as it gets. Let me know how you like it...and what you think of Claude Rains as Evil Prince John! _________________ There are three things in my life which I really love: God, my family, and baseball. Sounds cool. It was on TCM not too long ago but I forgot to DVR it It'll take me a while to get back to but I'll get there at some point.
Speaking of early Technicolor, I saw my first silent color movie yesterday! Terrible movie but it was color and from 1922! The review is up _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

Yeah, the 1920s color movie experiments were about as bad as The Jazz Singer was with sound! One more character to look for: Alan Hale as Little John! | At least with The Jazz Singer is led to a new technology that won. Not many non-Chaplin movies were silent after 1927. Those color movies in the 20s didn't really establish anything - color didn't take off for quite a long time after that. Heck, even in the 1960s there were still black and white movies (like Psycho). _________________ Coming soon: A better signature!

| Sound proved to be the end of many silent stars' careers. Especially in the early days when microphones were planted in curtains, flower bouquets, and hanging from the set ceiling! _________________ There are three things in my life which I really love: God, my family, and baseball. Also good. I'd say Bette Davis steals the show here. Most people love or hate her but I'm not sure which. I like her acting style but didn't like All About Eve. The scenery was kind of fake though.

This is the last all black and white film to win best picture. Schindler's List is black and white but had a couple moments of color. This, unlike the vastly superior Schindler's List is pretty funny. I liked it better than Some Like it Hot, perhaps because I'm one of the types who likes it cold. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |

| Oh, that reminds me, watch TCM 8/2 at 4:15 PM if you like comedy. It's something totally new that you've never tried - City Lights. It could be your first . It's the best film of that type according to the AFI. It's less than 90 minutes long. _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |
