Hey gang! As promised....After todays sweep of the ChiSox, I went down Michigan Ave to see the Old Ballpark one last time. As rumor has it...Demolition will suposedly start Friday, 6-13-2008 (fitting, huh? Friday the 13th?). So these could possibly be some of the last pictures taken.

I wasn't able to get any pieces of the cement blocks, as I had hoped....I was, however, able to find a large piece of the cement foundation under the blocks that was loose enough to pry out of the ground....so I do have a piece of history. It was really a very sad day, knowing that the greatest ballpark ever is about to be demolished. Sad

So....without further ado....here are the pics I was able to get. They are resized to fit the forum, but PM me if you want the Full Size pics that I have stored on my computer.

Oh...trust me....I was NOT the 1st to do that! lol

There were LOTS of blocks like that on the Rosa Parks Blvd side of the stadium. In fact....someone else had just done it and they asked me to take their pic for 'em. Then they returned the favor for us. LOL

thanks, Ohio! I never attended a game there but feel a great affinity toward the ol' girl. It ties us all together as Tigers fans!

I get burnt Today! [on my forehead] I don't tan well, especially there My arms are OK I wore a White T Shirt [ like I did the entire homestand] and sweat pants] I always wear sweats on day games; no matter the temp. My legs burn very easily!

Don't wear caps that much either!

Despite the Fact I have tons of caps! Including the NEW ERA authentic fitted Road, and Home Caps, and the Home Cap with the WS patch from 06

Plus A White Fitted Cap and the old TIGERS Road Cap from 1994- 1996] I bought at Kroger for 19:95 last summer.

They had New ERA Hats on sale last summer at the Kroger in Trashy Park.

Unless it really chilly out, not raining and not windy out do I wear one!

WHICH IS LIKE ALMOST NEVER AT COMERICA!

Even if it is in the 40s or 50s; it is usually rainy or windy

Thanks Catbox! I was really depressed walking around it thinking that it could soon be gone forever. I've been to dozens of ball games in my life, but nothing will ever compare to my very 1st game ever...and that it was at Tiger Stadium really makes it a special place.

It's kind of funny...I live 45 minutes from Cleveland, yet I have seen twice as many games in Detroit than I have in Cleveland! And...I've only seen one game in Cleveland that was against a team other than the Tigers! lol
