I don't have it totally correct, but there are supposedly 3 very cold days every May that are supposed to represent 3 kings from the Czech conglomeration of countries: Czechoslovakia, Moravia, and Bohemia. I'm not sure if they are a week a part or 3 in a row, but that was the story my Czech grandma always told me.

What you are talking about is called "Eisheilige" in german. The number of the saints (not kings) is differs from region to region: some know this with three, some with five.

Here you got the list of the names of these saints:
05/11 Mamertus (NYY)
05/12 Pankratius (-)
05/13 Servatius (@KC)
05/14 Bonifatius (@KC)
05/15 Sophie (@KC)

I can't remember who else I saw using one but last year there was someone else on one of the teams that had one.
