| OLD FASHION CHRISTMAS CUT-OUT BUTTER COOKIES
1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 3 eggs, well beaten 1/2 tsp salt 4 cups sifted flour
Cream butter, add sugar and vanilla and continue creaming in mixer until light. Beat eggs and add to butter mixture. Blend well. Sift flour, measure 4 cups, sift with salt and gradually add to dough in mixer. Chill 20 to 30 minutes. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out with cookie cutter, place on lightly greased cookie sheet, decorate with colored sugars and/or sprinkles as desired. Cook in 400 degree oven 8 to 10 minutes until light brown.

| I made a double batch today. To me, it is not christmas without these cookies! We have used this recipe since abt 1969.

| | I don't think this recipe tastes bad. I have tried several different ones and this is the one I liked best. With sprinkled sugars, they are easy to decorate. |

| We decorate them with frosting and sprinkles and other weird things. I just don't like them, they need something other than sugar and flour. They need nuts or chocolate or cinnamon or coconut or something! _________________ Coming soon: A better signature! |
