I was just noticing something...you never see too many Tigs out with colds, flu, sore throat, etc. etc. Am I missing something? Do they get nutritional supplements, Zicam, or whatever so they won't come down with these bugaboos? Just think--
exposure to hundreds of people everyday
grueling travel schedules
night games then day games

Just curious--

We will have to ask Jason Beck this question in his mailbag.

Most players play through them. I remember Polanco was out for a few weeks with the flu though. Some players miss more games than others. If it's just a cold or sore throat, they'll just play though it.

very true, I remember last season the Tigers had the flu hit just about all the team. Some were able to play through it, but each day we did not know who was going to be out of the game.

Why don't you do it, it was your question first...

Click link below and he has a "Submit a question to the Mailbag" link at top of page.

I imagine the fact that they are all pretty healthy is a pretty good reason they are able to fight off things like that.

I kinda thought so too, but with such close contact, all it takes is one of 'em getting sick, and....well, I don't even want to imagine!

Last season during one of the Cleveland road trips, Justin Verlander had the flu. He actually arrived in Cleveland for the second game. They didn't want him to travel with the team!
