Quote :
Curtis Granderson
- 22 doubles shy of 100 (4/30/08)
- 1 triple shy of tying 28 others for 970th place on the all-time list (38) (4/26/08)

He needs a double or triple soon too!

Good question rant

If you're referring specifically to Granderson, consider this:
Despite a terrible .239 batting average, he has forgotten how to single and has managed a slugging percentage of .500. He's walking at a decent clip for an on base percentage of .319 (still not great, terrible in fact) and has an OPS+ of 121 (21% better that league average!)

His OPS+ was 136 last year so he's got some improvement to do. If he could hit even .275 the way he's getting extra base hits he could be just as good as last year.

If anyone can get really going it's him - speed never slumps.
