And another thing; Umpire Joe West worked the plate in that game;

West, who has not worked a game at the COPA since Early 2006, had no problem wearing an old style umpire coat behind the plate despite temps well into the 70s last night in Cleveland.

Meanwhile the Base Umpires wore their light blue shirts.

Why is that it can be in the 70s in Cleveland and umps wear coats and light blue shirts; but at Co-Crapica Park; The only time you ever see the plate umpire wear a coat is when temps are in the 40's or colder [ like Opening Day this year or Game 2 of the 06 WS]
and it has to be 93 degrees and humid [ like it was on Sunday] in order for the umps to wear the light blue shirts

MORONS!

With this pitching staff....we're lucky if we can get 'em to last 6 innings, let alone all 9!! In order to pitch a CG shutout...we need them to Not give up any RUNS! We haven't done that all year! lol2

But Tigers Hitters have been shut out what?

8! 9 times this year?

Really soured yesterday's win against the SOX when I saw the highlights from the Indians game on ESPN!

Does anyone know the last time we had a 1-0 CG shutout at home?

I think it was Steve Sparks on 4/14/01 against Cleveland although I'm only about 90% sure.

If Verlander and Rogers continue to pitch like they did the past two days, I may be eating crow on this thread!

You are right, GS. This pitch count stuff is crap. As long as it is not every week, the guys should be able to go at least 120-130 pitches. It should be on how tired and how well the pitcher is throwing that determines when they come out!
