Renegades Win 9-5

WAPPINGER FALLS, NY- The Hudson Valley Renegades (13-16) scored six runs in the second inning to beat the Connecticut Tigers 7-5 before 5,264 fans at Dutchess Stadium on Sunday night.

The Renegades scored six runs in the second inning against Connecticut RHP Josue Carreno (1-4). With one out, RF Burt Reynolds (3-4), 2B Elias Otero (2-4), C Kyle Holloway (2-3) and CF Chris Swinder (1-3) all got singles. Swinder's single drove in two runs for a 2-0 Renegades lead.

LF Brian Bryles (2-4) followed with a two-run triple to make it 4-0 and Hudson Valley tacked on two more runs to take a commanding 6-0 lead.

Connecticut (15-15) quickly added four runs in the third inning to make it 6-4. CF P.J. Polk (2-5) hit a single and moved to third base when LF Ryan Enos (1-4) reached base on a single and advanced on a throwing error by Hudson Valley RHP Miguel Sierra.

An RBI groundout by 3B Matt Perry (1-5) scored Polk from third base to make it 6-1. Enos, who ended up a third base, scored on a wild pitch.

C Eric Roof (1-3) walked and scored on a two-run home run by 2B Chris Sedon (1-3) to make it 6-4.

In the fourth inning, Polk doubled and moved to third base on a balk. Perry hit an RBI single to score Polk and get the Tigers within one run at 6-5.

The Renegades scored a single run in the fifth inning against Connecticut LHP Antonio Cruz. 2B Elias Otero (2-4) singled and moved to second base on a past ball. C Kyle Holloway (2-3) walked and CF Chris Winder (1-2) laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt. Otero and Holloway each advanced into scoring position. LF Brian Bryles (2-4) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Otero for a 7-5 lead.

Hudson Valley scored two more runs in the eighth inning to increase the lead to 9-5.

Connecticut finishes it's three-game series on the road at Hudson Valley on Monday night at 5:05 p.m. RHP Brennan Smith (0-1, 3.86) gets the start for Connecticut against RHP Devin Fuller (0-2, 6.11) for Hudson Valley. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1310 WICH and online at milb.com.

Tigers and Renegades Rained Out

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY- The Connecticut Tigers and Hudson Valley Renegades were rained out on Monday night at Dutchess Stadium. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, August 4 at Dodd Stadium beginning at 6:05 p.m. There will be two seven-inning games with a half-hour break between games one and two.

Connecticut returns home to start a three-game series against the Vermont Lake Monsters at 7:05 p.m. It's a special "Two for Tuesday" at the ballpark presented by Price Chopper where fans can buy one reserved ticket and receive one reserved ticket free when they present their Price Chopper Advantage Card. Additionally, fans can buy one ticket, get one free anywhere in the ballpark when they present a Kraft Singles Wrapper at the Dodd Stadium Box Office. It's also Racing Night where fans can register to win two tickets to the Sylvania 300 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 19. Tigers Swim Past Lake Monsters 2-1

NORWICH-CF P.J. Polk (2-3) hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to score SS Ryan Soares (1-3) from second base, snap a 1-1 tied score and give the Connecticut Tigers (16-15) a 2-1 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters (21-10) before 1,009 fans at Dodd Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Tigers scored a single run in the first inning. Polk reached base on a single and moved to second base on a throwing error. 2B Alexander Nunez (0-3) laid down a sacrifice bunt that moved Polk to third base. 3B Matt Perry (1-4) hit an RBI single to score Polk for a 1-0 Tigers lead.

The Lake Monsters scored a run in the third inning. SS Jason Martinson (1-2) singled and scored on a double by DH David Freitas (2-4) to tie the game at 1-1.

In the seventh inning, Soares hit a two-out double and scored when Polk lined a single off 2B Blake Kelso's glove.

RHP Miguel Mejia (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings to get the win in his Tigers debut while RHP Tyler White logged two-thirds of an inning to get his first save of the season.

The Tigers and Lake Monsters continue their series on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. It's a Wicked Wild Wednesday with four reserved tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a program all for $40.00. The Lake Monsters send RHP Chris McKenzie (1-0, 6.23) to the mound against RHP Clemente Mendoza (2-3, 5.91) for the Tigers. Fans that hold a ticket to Wednesday's game may exchange their tickets for tickets of equal or lesser value to any remaining home game, (excluding playoffs), during the 2010 season at the Dodd Stadium Box Office.

The Tigers and Lake Monsters doubleheader concludes the series. The Tigers will host St. Patrick's in July with special Irish music and green beer at the game. It's also Thirsty Thursday with Budweiser and Bud Light specials at the stadium. The Tigers will send RHP Clemente Mendoza (2-3, 5.91) to the mound in game one and RHP Patrick Lawson (0-0, 3.86) to the hill in game two. Vermont has yet to announce starting pitchers. Tigers and Lake Monsters Split Doubleheader

NORWICH- The Connecticut Tigers (17-16) scored 11 runs on a season high 17 hits to beat the Vermont Lake Monsters 11-7 in game one of a doubleheader before surrendering three runs in the seventh inning to lose the nightcap 4-3 before 1,251 fans at Dodd Stadium on Thursday night.

The Vermont Lake Monsters (22-12) scored two runs in the first inning of game one. SS Jason Martinson (2-3) singled and moved to second base on a walk by DH David Freitas (1-3). RF Wade Moore (0-2) reached base on a fielder's choice and the bases were loaded for 3B Justin Miller (1-2), who dropped a two-run single into the outfield for a 2-0 Vermont lead.

The Connecticut Tigers put a run on the scoreboard in the first inning. LF Ryan Enos (2-4) tripled and scored on a single by 1B Matt Perry (2-4) to cut the lead to 2-1.

The Tigers scored two runs in the second inning to take a 3-2 lead. C Julio Rodriguez (2-2) singled and moved to second base on a balk by Vermont RHP Taylor Jordan. 1B James Robbins (4-4) hit a double to deep centerfield to score Rodriguez and tie the game at 2-2. RF Chao-Ting Tang (3-4) singled to move Robbins to third base and he scored on a fielder's choice to make it 3-2 Connecticut.

The Lake Monsters tacked on a run in the third inning to tie the game at 3-3 and the Tigers re-took the lead in the third inning. DH Eric Roof (0-3) led off the inning with a walk and went to third base on a double by Rodriguez. Robbins hit a single to score Roof and make it 4-3.

The two clubs each scored a combined four runs between the two games. After the Lake Monsters scored three runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-5 lead, the Tigers responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Rodriguez led off the inning with a walk, moved to second base on a past ball and scored on a single by Robbins. Tang singled Robbins to second base and both runners each stole a base to move into scoring position.

CF P.J. Polk (2-5) grounded out to score Robbins and LF Ryan Enos (2-4) doubled home Tang to make it 8-7.

The Tigers scored three runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a two-run triple from Robbins to make it 11-7.

He finished 4-4 with four RBI in game one. RHP Kevan Hess (2-0) pitched two and one-thirds scoreless innings to pick up the win.

In game two, Vermont scored a run in the fourth inning on a solo home run by C David Freitas (2-3) to take a 1-0 lead.

GM 2: Recap Box

Connecticut batted around in the fourth inning and scored three runs on four hits. DH Josh Ashenbrenner (2-4) doubled and moved to third base on a wild pitch. CF P.J. Polk (0-1) walked and RF Ryan Enos (1-4) singled Ashenbrenner home for a 1-1 tied score.

3B Matt Perry (2-3) and 2B Chris Sedon (1-4) each hit RBI singles to make it a 3-1 Connecticut lead.

In the seventh inning, Freitas (2-3) led off the inning with a single. Tigers' manager Howard Bushong replaced RHP Tyler Clark with LHP Antonio Cruz (0-1). RF Wade Moore (1-3) hit a single and DH Justin Miller (1-2) reached base on a sacrifice bunt and throwing error.

1B Ronnie LaBrie (0-2) worked a bases-loaded walk and Freitas scored to make it 3-2. Blake Kelso (0-1) reached base on a fielder's choice and throwing error. Moore scored on the fielder's choice and Miller scored on the throwing error to make it 4-3.

The Tigers start a brief two-game series with the Tri-City ValleyCats, the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Houston Astros at Dodd Stadium on Friday night. It's a Friday Fireworks Show sponsored by Xtra Mart and Atlas PyroVision after the game. Tigers Win in 13 Innings in Cooperstown

COOPERSTOWN, NY-The Connecticut Tigers (18-16) got an RBI single from SS Ryan Soares (4-6) to earn a 6-5 win over the Tri-City VallleyCats (13-21) in a 13-inning, New York-Penn League Hall of Fame Game at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown, NY on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers scored a run in the first inning against ValleyCats starter David Martinez. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-5) hit a triple and scored on a single by 2B Alexander Nunez (2-5) for a 1-0 lead.

In the second inning, C Julio Rodriguez (2-6) doubled and moved to third base on a groundout by 1B James Robbins (0-3). Soares hit an RBI single to score Rodriguez and make it 2-0.

In the third inning, LF Ryan Enos (2-5) led off with a single and stole second base. Ashenbrenenr flew out to left field to move Enos to third base. Nunez hit an RBI single to plate Enos and make it 3-0.

The ValleyCats scored three runs in the fourth inning against Connecticut RHP Patrick Cooper to tie the game at 4-4. 2B Kike Hernandez (1-6) singled and 1B Tyler Burnett (3-5) walked.

C Ben Heath (1-4) hit an RBI double to score Hernandez. 3B Michael Kvasnicka (2-6) followed with an RBI groundout to score Burnett and RF Adam Bailey (0-5) hit a sacrifice fly to score Heath and tie the game at 3-3.

Tri-City scored a run in the in the sixth inning to take a 4-3 lead but the Tigers responded with two runs in the seventh inning to take a 5-4 lead. Soares singled and went to third base on a single by Polk. Enos hit a two-run single to score both runners and give the Tigers a 5-4 lead.

In the ValleyCats ninth inning, CF Daniel Adamanson (1-5) and DH Nick Stanley (0-3) hit back-to-back doubles to tie the score at 5-5.

The Tigers and ValleyCats remained tied until the 13th inning. Rodriguez singled and was lifted in favor of pinch-runner Les Smith (0-0). 1B Matt Perry (0-0) laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Smith to second base. Soares hit a single to left field to bring home Smith and the win for the Tigers.

The Tigers travel to Lowell, MA to begin a two-game series with the Lowell Spinners on Sunday night at 5:05 p.m. LHP Rayni Guichardo (1-2, 5.32) gets the start for Connecticut against RHP Madison Younginer (2-5, 7.22) for Lowell. Tigers Hang Tough in a 9-5 Win in Lowell

LOWELL, MA-The Connecticut Tigers (19-16) scored nine runs on 12 hits to get a 9-5 win over the Lowell Spinners (8-29) before 4,980 fans at LeLacheur Park on Sunday night in the opener of a two-game series.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the first inning. CF P.J. Polk (2-3) led off the inning with a double and moved to third base on a groundout by LF Ryan Enos (1-5). 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-5) then grounded out to score Polk for a 1-0 Connecticut lead.

The Spinners tied the game with a run in the first inning against Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo (2-2). CF Felix Sanchez (2-5) singled and moved to second base on a groundout by DH Kolbrin Vitek (0-4). SS Jose Garcia (1-5) doubled to score Sanchez for a 1-1 tied score.

Connecticut broke the lead with a two-run fifth inning. Polk walked and stole second base. Enos hit an RBI single to score Polk and 2B Alexander Nunez (2-5) doubled to score Enos and make it 3-1.

1B James Robbins (2-4) led off the sixth inning with a solo home run to make it 4-1.

Lowell added a run in the sixth inning to get within two runs at 4-2 and Connecticut scored another run in the eighth inning when Robbins singled and moved to second base on a single by C Eric Roof (2-4). Polk hit an RBI double to score Robbins and make it 5-2.

Guichardo (2-2) pitched five innings and allowed one run on six hits to pick up the win. RHP Tyler Clark pitched the eighth and ninth inning to get his second save of the season.

After the Spinners tacked on a run in the eighth inning, the Tigers scored four more runs in the ninth inning to earn a 9-3 lead. With the bases loaded in the ninth inning, Roof hit a two-run double to make it 7-3. The Tigers scored two more runs in the inning, one on a sacrifice fly by RF Londell Taylor (0-4) and one on a wild pitch.

The Tigers and Spinners finish their series on Monday afternoon at 12:05 p.m. RHP Josue Carreno (1-4, 6.00) gets the start for Connecticut against RHP Tyler Wilson for Lowell (0-2, 5.83). There will be no broadcast of the game on Monday.

Tigers Complete Sweep with a 3-2 Win in Lowell

LOWELL, MA-The Connecticut Tigers (20-16) scored two runs in the second inning and received five scoreless innings from RHP Josue Carreno (2-4) to earn a 3-2 win over the Lowell Spinners (8-30) before 5,217 fans at LeLacheur Park on Monday afternoon.

The Connecticut Tigers sent eight men to the plate in the second inning against Lowell RHP Tyler Wilson (0-3). C Julio Rodriguez (1-4) doubled and scored on a double by 1B James Robbins (1-4) down the right field line. 2B Ryan Soares (3-4) sent a single through the left side of the infield to move Robbins to third base. LF Les Smith (0-3) popped out to center field to score Robbins on a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 Tigers lead.

The Lowell Spinners scored a run in the eighth inning against Connecticut LHP Antonio Cruz. CF Felix Sanchez (1-3) started off the inning with a triple and scored on a groundout by 1B Miles Head (1-3) to cut the lead down to one run at 2-1.

Carreno tossed five scoreless innings to get the win. He allowed just two hits and struck out six.

The Tigers tacked on an insurance run in the ninth inning when LF Ryan Enos (1-5) pulled a high fastball from RHP Tyler Lockwood over the right field wall for a solo home run and a 3-1 lead.

In the ninth inning, Lowell scored one run against Tigers RHP Tyler White before LHP Logan Hoch came into the game to record the final two outs for his second save of the season.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers made a pair of roster moves after the game on Sunday, promoting IF Chris Sedon and OF Matt Mansilla to High A Lakeland of the Florida State League. Mansilla hit .130 with two home runs and nine RBI in 17 games played. Sedon hit .333 with one home run and three RBI in six games played.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers also moved RHP Kevan Hess to Low A West Michigan of the Midwest League after Saturday's game. Hess, in his second year at the short-season level, was 2-0 with a 2.87 ERA in 12 appearances out of the bullpen for the Tigers in 2010.

After an off day on Tuesday, the Tigers travel to Staten Island to begin a three-game series with the Staten Island Yankees on Wednesday morning at 11:05 a.m. RHP Brennan Smith (0-1, 3.38) gets the start for Connecticut against a yet-to-be announced starter for Staten Island. There will be no broadcast of the game on Wednesday.

STATEN ISLAND, NY-The Staten Island Yankees (19-16) scored a single run in the fourth inning to snap the Connecticut Tigers' (20-17) three-game winning streak with a 1-0 win on Wednesday afternoon at Richmond County Ballpark.

The Yankees scored a run in the fourth inning against Connecticut RHP Brennan Smith (0-2). 2B Casey Stevenson (2-4) led off the inning with a solo home run for a 1-0 Yankees lead.

Smith pitched a complete game in the loss. He went eight innings, walked one man and struck out six in the first complete game by a Connecticut starter this season.

The Tigers scattered six hits on Wednesday afternoon. LF Ryan Enos (2-3) and 2B Alexander Nunez (1-3) led the way offensively for Connecticut.

Yankees Start Strong; Win 6-3

STATEN ISLAND, NY- The Staten Island Yankees (20-16) scored four runs over the first four innings to beat the Connecticut Tigers 6-3 before 4,306 fans at Richmond County Ballpark on Thursday night.

The Yankees scored two runs in the second inning against Connecticut starter RHP Clemente Mendoza (2-4). 1B Kyle Roller (2-4) singled and moved to third base on a double by SS Jose Mojica (2-4). C Nick McCoy (0-2) grounded out to second base to score Roller for a 1-0 Yankees lead.

Mojica moved to third base on the groundout. 2B Luis Parache (1-3) reached base on an error to score Mojica for a 2-0 advantage.

After Staten Island scored a run in the third inning, Parache led off the fourth inning for the Yankees and pulled a fastball off the right field foul pole for a solo home run and a 4-0 lead.

Connecticut (20-18) scored two runs in the sixth inning against Staten Island LHP Nik Turley (1-2). CF P.J. Polk (1-4) led off the inning with a single and moved to second base on a walk issued to LF Ryan Enos (1-2).

3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-4) singled to score Polk and cut the lead down to 4-1.

Enos moved to third base on the play and scored on a throwing error by Staten Island 2B Luis Panache to make it 4-2. Ashenbrenner then got caught between first and second base in a run down when Panache threw the ball away from first base. Enos trotted in from third base to cut the lead in half.

2B Alexander Nunez (1-4) grounded out to move Ashenbrenner to third base and 1B James Robbins (0-4) followed with an RBI groundout to score Ashenbrenner and make it 4-3.

The Yankees scored two runs in the sixth inning to increase the lead to 6-4 on a two-run double by 2B Casey Stevenson (1-5).

Mendoza started the game and took the loss. He went six innings and allowed six runs on eight hits for the Tigers.

Tigers and ValleyCats Split Twin-Bill

NORWICH, CT-The Connecticut Tigers (22-19) beat the Tri-City ValleyCats (18-23) 2-1 in game one of a doubleheader before losing the nightcap 3-1 before 1,620 fans at Dodd Stadium on Saturday night.

In game one of the doubleheader, the ValleyCats scored a run in the fifth inning against Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo (3-2). SS Ben Orloff (1-2) reached base with a two-out walk and scored on a double by 2B Kike Hernandez (1-3) for a 1-0 ValleyCats lead.

The Tigers scored two runs in the fifth inning to take a 2-1 lead. C Julio Rodriguez (2-2) singled and moved to third base on a single by LF Les Smith (1-2). Smith took second base on the throw in from the outfield and there were runners at second and third base with nobody out.

SS Brett Anderson (0-1) and RF Chao-Ting Tang (0-1) each hit sacrifice flies to score Rodriguez and Smith respectively and make it 2-1.

Guichardo pitched six innings to get the win. RHP Tyler White worked a scoreless seventh inning to pick up his second save.

GM 2: Recap Box

The ValleyCats scored first in game two of the doubleheader. SS Jacke Healey (1-3) hit a two-run home run in the second inning against Connecticut RHP Miguel Mejia (2-1) to give Tri-City a 2-0 lead.

The Tigers scored a run in the fourth inning when LF Ryan Enos (2-2) led off the inning with a single and 1B James Robbins (1-3) doubled.

Tri-City re-took a two-run lead with a single run in the fifth inning. 3B Ben Orloff (2-4) singled, stole second base and went to third base on a throwing error. 2B Kike Hernandez (1-4) grounded out and Orloff scored for a 3-1 lead.

Team Effort Leads to a 7-1 Tigers Win

STATEN ISLAND, NY-RHP Patrick Lawson (1-0) pitched five innings and C Eric Roof (1-4) and 1B James Robbins (2-5) each hit home runs to lead the Connecticut Tigers (21-18) to a 7-1 win over the Staten Island Yankees (30-17) before 7,171 fans at Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Friday night.

The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning against Staten Island RHP Mike Gipson. CF P.J. Polk (2-4) reached base on an error and stole second base. A sacrifice bunt by RF Ryan Enos (1-4) moved Polk to third base. Robbins hit an RBI single to score Polk for a 1-0 Tigers lead.

Robbins moved to second base on a throwing error by Staten Island 2B Casey Stevenson. He scored all the way from second base on a wild pitch. Yankees C Francisco Arcia couldn't find the baseball and Robbins crossed home plate thanks to aggressive base running for a 2-0 lead. Roof hit a solo home run in the third inning and Robbins added a two-run home run as part of a three-run fifth inning.

The Tigers added an insurance run in the seventh inning when Robbins was hit by a pitch and moved to second base on a single by 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-4). DH Matt Perry (2-4) hit an RBI single to plate Robbins and make it 7-1.

The Tigers return home to begin a three-game series with the Tri-City ValleyCats with a doubleheader on Saturday at Dodd Stadium at 5:05 p.m. RHP Carlos Quevedo (3-1, 3.50) gets the start in game one of the doubleheader for Tri-City against LHP Rayni Guichardo (2-2, 4.71) for Connecticut. NORWICH, CT-The Connecticut Tigers (23-19) scored two runs in the first inning and received six strong innings from RHP Josue Carreno (3-4) to beat the Tri-City ValleyCats (18-24) 3-1 before 1,175 fans at Dodd Stadium in Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers scored two runs in the second inning against Tri-City RHP Bobby Doran (1-4). CF P.J. Polk (2-4) singled and moved to third base on a single by RF Ryan Enos (1-4).

2B Alexander Nunez (0-4) followed with a ground out to score Polk. Enos advanced to second base on a past ball and went to third on Nunez's ground out.

3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-4) hit an RBI single to plate Enos and make it 2-0.

The ValleyCats scored a run in the second inning. DH Ben Heath (1-4) doubled and moved to third base on a ground out by DH Daniel Adamson (0-2). RF Adam Bailey (1-4) singled to score Heath for a 2-1 Connecticut lead.

Connecticut scored a run in the seventh inning to take a 3-1 advantage. SS Ryan Soares (0-3) reached base on a throwing error and stole second base. Polk singled to left field to score Soares.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers added RHP Tim Mowry from the GCL Tigers to their roster before the game. Mowry went 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA in nine appearances. He pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts in his Tigers debut on Sunday.

NORWICH, CT-The Lowell Spinners (11-33) and Connecticut Tigers (23-20) battled to a scoreless tie through the first five innings before the Spinners scored three runs in the sixth inning and three runs in the eighth inning to earn a 6-1 win before 1,009 fans at Dodd Stadium on Monday night.

Lowell scored three runs in the sixth inning against Connecticut RHP Brennan Smith (0-3). SS Joantoni Garcia (2-4) singled and moved to third base on a single by 2B James Kang (2-4).

DH Jose Iglesias (1-3) smacked a two-run triple to make it 2-0 Lowell. 1B Miles Head (1-5) doubled home Iglesias to make it 3-0 Lowell.

Smith pitched seven innings and allowed three runs on five hits. He did not walk a man and struck out eight. The eight strikeouts ties a single-game high set by former Tiger Michael Torrealba against Mahoning Valley on July 6.

The Spinners added three runs in the eighth inning to seal a 6-0 lead. The Tigers followed with a run in the ninth inning. SS Ryan Soares (0-3) reached base on an error and moved to second base on defensive indifference. CF P.J. Polk (0-3) grounded out and RF Ryan Enos (1-3) singled home Soares to make it 6-1.

Lowell scored it's run against Connecticut starter Clemente Mendoza (2-5). LF Brandon Jacobs (1-4) crushed a change up over the left field wall for his third home run of the season in a 1-0 Lowell lead.

Mendoza tossed seven innings and surrendered just one run on three hits to suffer the loss. The Tigers recorded just two hits in the game on Tuesday.

Tigers Sweep Doubleheader; On the Verge of First Place

NORWICH-The Connecticut Tigers (25-21) swept a doubleheader against the Hudson Valley Renegades (22-22) with 2-1 wins in both games before 899 fans at Dodd Stadium on Wednesday night. With the Vermont Lake Monsters losing 6-3 to the Auburn Doubledays on Wednesday, the Tigers now trail the Lake Monsters by one-half game for first place in the NY-Penn League Stedler Division.

GM 1: Recap Box

In game one, the Tigers scored two runs in the fourth inning against Hudson Valley RHP Miguel Sierra (2-3). 2B Alexander Nunez (1-3) hit a one-out double and scored on a triple by 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-3). C Eric Roof (1-3) singled home Ashenbrenner to make it 2-0.

The Renegades scored a single run in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 2-1. C Mayo Acosta (1-2) doubled and moved to third base on a wild pitch. DH Kyle Lusson (1-3) hit an RBI single to score Acosta.

Lawson went five innings to get the win. He allowed one run on five hits. LHP Logan Hoch tossed two scoreless innings gets his third save of the season.

GM 2: Recap Box

In game two, Connecticut scored a single run in the first inning against Hudson Valley RHP Merrill Kelly (1-1). LF Ryan Enos (1-3) singled and stole second base. A ground out by 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-3) moved Enos to third base. He scored in a wild pitch for a 1-0 Tigers lead.

Hudson Valley tied the game in the second inning against Connecticut RHP Miguel Mejia (3-1). DH Nick Schwaner (2-3) singled and stole second base. 1B Phil Wunderlich (0-2) was hit by a pitch and 3B Elias Otero (1-3) singled home Schwaner for a 1-1 tied score.

The Tigers scored a run in the fourth inning. Ashenbrenner singled and moved to second base on a throwing error by Hudson Valley 3B Elias Otero. 1B James Robbins (1-3) doubled home Ashenbrenner to make it 2-1.

The Tigers and Renegades continue their series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. It's Thirsty Thursday with Bud and Bud Light Specials at the ballpark. It's also Military Appreciation Night. Tigers Move Into First Place With 3-2 Win

NORWICH-The Connecticut Tigers (26-21) broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning on an RBI double by CF P.J. Polk (3-5) to earn a 3-2 win over the Hudson Valley Renegades (22-23) before 1,322 fans at Dodd Stadium. With the Vermont Lake Monsters losing 7-4 in Auburn, the Connecticut Tigers take over first place in the NY-Penn League Stedler Division by a half game.

The Renegades scored a run in the second inning against Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo. 3B Elias Otero (0-2) reached base on a fielding error and moved to third base on an errant pick off throw by Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo. C Alejandro Torres (2-4) slapped a single to left field to score Otero for a 1-0 lead.

The Tigers tied the game in the fourth inning. 2B Alexander Nunez (2-4) singled and stole second base. 1B James Robbins (0-2) walked and 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (0-3) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. DH Brett Anderson (1-3) flew out to center field to score Nunez and tie the game at 1-1.

Connecticut scored a run in the fifth inning to take a 2-1 lead. Polk singled and advanced to second base on a throwing error. He scored on a triple by Nunez.

Hudson Valley scored a run in the eighth inning on a throwing error for a 2-2 tie. Otero walked and moved to third base in a single by Torres. LF Chris Winder (1-3) reached base on a single and went to second base on a throwing error by SS Ryan Soares. The error allowed Otero to score to tie the game at 2-2.

The Tigers scored the game-winning run in the eighth inning. With two outs RF Londell Taylor (2-3) hit a double and scored on a double by Polk to make it 3-2.

RHP Tim Mowry (1-0) pitched three innings to pick up the win and RHP Tyler Clark worked a scoreless ninth inning to get his second save of the season.

The Tigers and Renegades finish their series on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. LHP Zach Rosscup (0-0, 3.86) gets the start for Hudson Valley against RHP Josue Carreno (3-4, 4.37) for Connecticut. Renegades Win 12-0

NORWICH-The Hudson Valley Renegades (23-23) took advantage of 12 walks to win 12-0 over the Connecticut Tigers (26-22) before 2,125 fans at Dodd Stadium on Friday night.

The Renegades opened the scoring with a single run in the third inning against RHP Josue Carreno (3-5). RF Burt Reynolds (0-3) walked and stole second base. He moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt by SS Dio Luis (1-2) to make it 1-0.

Hudson Valley tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning. DH Robby Price (1-4) walked and moved to third base on a double by 2B Elias Otero (4-6).

3B Nick Schwaner (2-5) hit a sacrifice fly to score Price and 1B Phil Wunderlich (3-5) doubled home Otero. Hudson Valley tacked on another run in the inning to make it 4-0.

Three more runs came across the in the seventh inning for Hudson Valley to make it 7-0. Schwaner belted a two-run home run in the inning.

Hudson Valley scored five runs in the ninth inning to seal a 12-0 win.

BROOKLYN, NY-The Brooklyn Cyclones (34-15) fought back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Connecticut Tigers 3-2 in 11 innings before 8,757 fans at MCU Park on Saturday night.

The Tigers (26-23) scored two runs in the sixth inning against Brooklyn LHP Hamilton Bennett. 3B Matt Perry (0-4) reached base on an error and moved to third base on a single by SS Ryan Soares (1-4).

LF Les Smith (2-5) hit an RBI single to right field and Perry scored. Soares moved to third base on the single and scored on a fielding error by SS Rylan Sandoval for a 2-0 lead.

The Cyclones scored a run in the seventh inning against Tigers RHP Brennan Smith. 3B Brian Harrison (2-4) hit a solo home run over the left field wall to cut the lead to 2-1.

Smith pitched seven innings and allowed one run on seven hits in a no decision.

LF Will Cherry (1-4) led off the ninth inning with a solo home run against Connecticut RHP Tyler Clark (2-1) to tie the game at 2-2.

In the 11th inning, Harrison hit a bloop double to right field and moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt by 2B J.B. Brown. A throwing error by Tigers 3B Matt Perry allowed the winning run to score.

Tigers Win 6-3 in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY-The Connecticut Tigers (27-23) scored four runs in the third inning en route to a 6-3 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones (34-16) before 8,047 fans at MCU Park on Sunday.

The Tigers scored four runs in the third inning against Brooklyn RHP Wes Wrenn (3-3). CF P.J. Polk (0-5) reached base on an error and moved to second base on a single by LF Ryan Enos (1-5).

2B Alexander Nunez (2-5) grounded out to move Enos to second base and 1B James Robbins (1-5) hit an RBI single to score Polk for a 1-0 lead.

With the Robbins single moving Enos to third base, the Tigers tried a double-steal. Robbins took off from first to second base, drawing a throw from Brooklyn C Blake Forysth. Once Forsyth unleashed the throw, Enos broke for home plate and scored to make it 2-0.

C Julio Rodriguez (3-5) followed with a two-run home run off the left field scoreboard to make it 4-0.

The Tigers scored a run in the fifth inning. Nunez led off the inning with a double and moved to third base when Robbins reached on an error. Nunez scored on a balk for a 5-0 lead.

The Cyclones scored two runs in the sixth inning. 1B Jeff Flagg (1-3) hit a solo home run over the left field wall to cut the lead to four runs at 5-1. 2B Joe Bonfe (1-4) doubled and moved to third base on a throwing error by Tigers C Julio Rodriguez.

LF Wil Cherry (1-3) laced an RBI single to score Bonfe and cut the lead to 5-2.

Connecticut scored a run in the seventh inning. RF Chao-Ting Tang (1-4) singled home 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-5) to advance the lead to 6-2.

The Cyclones scored a run in the ninth inning against LHP Logan Hoch, who pitched three innings to get his fourth save of the season.

Mendoza picked up the win by pitching six innings and allowing one earned run on six hits.

The Tigers and Cyclones finish their series on Monday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. RHP Patrick Lawson (2-0, 2.78) starts for Connecticut against RHP Yohan Almonte (5-3, 2.04) for Brooklyn. There will be no broadcast of the game on Monday.

Cyclones Take Series With 5-2 Win

BROOKLYN, NY-The Brooklyn Cyclones (35-16) scored five runs on nine hits to defeat the Connecticut Tigers (27-24) by a score of 5-2 before 7,346 fans at MCU Park on Monday afternoon.

The Cyclones scored two runs in the third inning against Connecticut RHP Patrick Lawson (2-1). RF Wil Cherry (2-4) singled and moved to third base on a single by LF Cody Holliday (1-2).

SS Justin Schaeffer (3-5) and 2B J.B. Brown (1-3) followed with a pair of RBI singles for a 2-0 Brooklyn lead.

Brooklyn added a run in the fifth inning. Holliday walked and moved to second base on a single by Schaeffer. Both runners advanced one base on a wild pitch by Lawson. Brown walked to load the bases and CF Cory Vaughn (1-3) lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Holliday and make it 3-0.

The Tigers scored a single run in the sixth inning. LF Ryan Enos (1-4) doubled and moved to third base on a past ball. 2B Alexander Nunez (0-3) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Enos and trim the Brooklyn lead to 3-1.

Brooklyn added two runs in the sixth inning to make it 5-1.

Connecticut scored another run in the ninth inning. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-3) led off the inning with a walk and moved to second base on a ground out by C Julio Rodriguez (1-4). SS Ryan Soares (0-4) reached base on an error and Ashenbrenner scored to make it 5-2.

Lawson pitched five innings and allowed four runs on six hits to suffer the loss.

JAMESTOWN, NY-The Jamestown Jammers (31-20) broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI double from LF Ryan Fisher in the seventh inning earn a 5-4 win over the Connecticut Tigers (27-25) before 2,083 fans at Diehtrick Park on Tuesday night.

The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning against Jamestown RHP Rett Varner. CF Ryan Enos (1-3) and LF Chao-Ting Tang (1-5) started the inning with back-to-back singles.

2B Alexander Nunez(1-2) laid down a sacrifice bunt up the third base line that moved both runners into scoring position. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (0-4) grounded out to second base to score Enos and move Tang to third base. C Julio Rodriguez (2-4) hit an RBI single to score Tang and make it 2-0.

The Jammers scored four runs in the fifth inning to take the 4-2 lead. C Wilfredo Gimenez (1-4) led off the inning with a single and DH James Wooster (2-4) struck out. 3B Aury Diaz (2-4) and CF Brent Keys (1-2) followed with back-to-back singles to load the bases.

2B Danny Black (1-4) reached on a fielder's choice. Gimenez scored from third base to cut the Connecticut lead to 2-1.SS Todd Muecklisch (0-1) walked to load the bases and Fisher hit a bases-clearing triple to make it 4-2 Jamestown.

Connecticut quickly started it's comeback with a single run scoring in the sixth inning. Nunez led off the inning with a single and stole second base. Ashenbrenner flew out to center field to move Nunez to third base. Rodriguez reached base on an error and Nunez scored to bring the Tigers within one run at 4-3.

In the seventh inning the Tigers executed a breathtaking double steal. RF Londell Taylor (0-3) was hit by a pitch and went to second base on a sacrifice fly by Enos. Tang grounded out to move Taylor to third base. Nunez walked and the Tigers tried a double steal. Nunez drew a throw to second base and Taylor scored from third to tie the game at 4-4.

Jamestown went ahead in the seventh inning. Fisher lifted a ground rule double over the right field wall to score Black from second base and make it 5-4.

Tigers Crush Jammers 8-3

JAMESTOWN, NY-The Connecticut Tigers (28-25) scored eight runs on 10 hits, including a two-run home run by RF Londell Taylor (1-3) to earn an 8-3 win over the Jamestown Jammers (31-21) before 583 fans at Diehtrick Park on Wednesday night.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the first inning. CF P.J. Polk (2-5) doubled and moved to third base on a ground out by DH Ryan Enos (0-3).

2B Alexander Nunez (2-4) grounded out to score Polk for a 1-0 Connecticut lead.

Connecticut added a run in the third inning. Polk singled and stole second base. Nunez hit an RBI single to score Polk for a 2-0 lead.

Jamestown scored a run in the fourth inning against Tigers RHP Josue Carreno (4-5). 3B Ryan Fisher (3-4) doubled and moved to third base on a ground out by DH Aaron Dudley (0-5).

1B Aaron Senne (1-2) singled to score Fisher and make it 2-1.

In the fifth inning, the Tigers re-took a two run lead. LF Chao-Ting Tang (2-4) singled and stole second base. Polk flew out to right field and Tang moved to third base. Enos flew out to third base in foul territory halfway up the left field line. Tang tagged up and raced in from third base to score the run and for a 3-1 Connecticut lead.

The Tigers added two more runs in the sixth inning. Taylor pulled a fastball over the right field wall for a two-run home run and a 5-1 Connecticut lead.

3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-4) hit an RBI single in the eighth inning to plate Nunez and make it 6-1.

The Jammers added a run in the eighth inning to make it 6-2 and the Tigers scored two runs in the ninth inning to increase their lead to 8-2.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers added RHP Ramon Lebron before the game on Tuesday from the GCL Tigers. He went 1-0 with a 2.28 ERA in 11 appearances in the GCL. Lebron started the season with West Michigan and went 4-5 with a 6.85 ERA in 13 starts.

JAMESTOWN, NY-The Jamestown Jammers (32-21) scored 14 runs on 17 hits to defeat the Connecticut Tigers (28-26) by a score of 14-0 before 1751 fans at Diethrick Park on Thursday night. The Jammers scored four runs in the first inning against Connecticut RHP Brennan Smith (0-4). 2B Danny Black (3-5) singled and moved to second base when SS Todd Muecklisch (0-2) was hit by a pitch. DH Noah Perio (4-5) singled home Black for a 1-0 lead. RF Marcell Ozuna (3-5) smacked a three-run home run over left field wall for a 4-0 Jamestown lead. In the fifth inning, the Jammers added two more runs. Perio led off the inning with a single and scored on an opposite-field home run by LF Ryan Fisher for a 6-0 lead. Jamestown scored eight runs over the sixth and seventh innings to make it 14-0. The Tigers return home to start a three-game series with the Auburn Doubledays on Friday at 7:05 p.m. It's a Friday Night Fireworks Show after the game presented by XtraMart Convenience Stores and Atlas PyroVision. It's also Halloween at the ballpark with fans encouraged to come to the game dressed up in costume! Prizes will be handed out to the best costume at the game! Friday the 13th Strikes Again!
Game Postponed Until Saturday - Tigers to hold Free Fan Fest with Fireworks at Dodd Stadium on Friday Night

This isn't an April Fools' joke, its Friday the 13th proving that superstition rings true.

Tonight's game between the Connecticut Tigers and the Auburn Doubledays at Dodd Stadium has been postponed. The Tiger's team bus broke down in western New York while returning from a road trip, and won't be back to Norwich in time for tonight's game.

So the Tigers are opening the gates and welcoming the fans to a Free Friday the 13th Fan Fest highlighted by a Spectacular Fireworks Show! There will be activities on the concourse and on the field throughout the evening. Gates open at 6:00 pm.

The Tigers will still hold their Friday Night Fireworks Show presented by XtraMart Convenience Stores and Atlas Pyrovision.

Fans can "Have a Catch" on the field and will have the opportunity to take batting practice at Dodd Stadium. Fans who want to participate on the field are encouraged to bring their own glove.

The scheduled promotion "Halloween at the Ballpark" will still take place. Fans are still encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes. There will be contests for the best costumes voted on by the fans. The winner from the 13 and over division will receive a Luxury Suite night for 20 people, and the winner of the 12 and under division will receive a free party.

The first 500 children 12 and under through the gates will receive a Halloween gift pack from iParty. Every child in costume can "Trick or Treat" throughout the concourse for candy.

Any fan who comes to the Fan Fest tonight will receive a free ticket voucher good to any future Tigers game this season.

The Tigers will make up tonight's game on Saturday as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 pm. Any fan who presents a ticket from Friday's game can exchange it for a ticket to Saturday's game.

The Tigers are currently in 2nd place in the New York - Penn League Stedler division, and will play 15 of their final 21 games at home at Dodd Stadium in Norwich.

NORWICH-RHP Clemente Mendoza (4-5) pitched a seven-inning complete game to lead the Connecticut Tigers (29-27) to a 2-1 win over the Auburn Doubledays (22-33) in game one of a doubleheader before the Doubledays held on for a 1-0 win against the Tigers in game two before 2,030 fans at Dodd Stadium on Saturday night. The Tigers scored two runs in the third inning against Auburn LHP Sean Nolin (0-1). DH Tyson Kendrick (0-1) led off the inning with a walk and was forced out at second base with LF Ryan Enos (0-3) reaching base on a fielder's choice. 2B Alexander Nunez (2-3) singled Enos to second base. C Julio Rodriguez (2-3) hit an RBI single to score Enos for a 1-0 Tigers lead. A fielding error by Auburn LF Marcus Knecht allowed Nunez to move to third base. 1B James Robbins (1-3) followed with an RBI single to score Nunez for a 2-0 lead. Mendoza pitched the second complete game of the season for the Tigers. He allowed one run on five hits without a walk and six strikeouts. In game two, the Doubledays scored one run against Tigers RHP Patrick Lawson (2-2) in the second inning. LF Steve McQuail (2-3) reached base on an error to lead off the inning. C Jack Murphy (1-2) followed with a double to move McQuail to third base. RF Jonathan Jones (1-4) hit an RBI single to score McQuail for a 1-0 lead. Doubledays Take Series With 2-0 Win

NORWICH-The Auburn Doubledays (23-33) scored two runs in the second inning to earn a 2-0 win over the Connecticut Tigers (29-28) before 1,337 fans at Dodd Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Auburn scored their two runs in the second inning against Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo (3-3). 3B Matt Nuzzo (1-1) doubled and moved to third on a single by 2B Oliver Dominguez (1-4).

LF Markus Brisker (1-3) hit a two-run double to score Nuzzo and Dominguez and make it 2-0 Auburn.

The Tigers take Monday and Tuesday off for the New York-Penn League All-Star Game to be held on Tuesday, August 17 in Staten Island. On Wednesday, the Tigers return home to start a two-game series with the Tri-City ValleyCats at 7:05 p.m. It's a Wicked Wild Wednesday with four reserved seats, four hots, four sodas and a program all for $40.00.Starting pitchers have yet to be announced during the series and pre-game coverage starts at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1310 WICH and online at www.cttigers.com.

NORWICH-The Tri-City ValleyCats (28-29) scored three runs in the third inning to beat the Connecticut Tigers (29-29) by a score of 6-0 before 814 fans at Dodd Stadium on Wednesday night in the opener of a two-game series.

The ValleyCats scored a run in the first inning against Connecticut starter Josue Carreno (4-6). 2B Kike Hernandez (4-5) singled and moved to third base on an error by Tigers CF P.J. Polk. 3B Tyler Burnett (1-3) walked and CF Daniel Adamson (1-5) grounded out. Hernandez scored from third base for a 1-0 ValleyCats lead.

Tri-City added to it's lead in the third inning. Hernandez hit a two-out single and scored on a two-run home run by Burnett.

Adamson reached base on an error and stole second base. A throwing error by Connecticut C Eric Roof allowed Adamson to move to third base. He scored on a double by DH Michael Kvasnicka to make it 4-0.

Adamson also hit a solo home run in the seventh inning against RHP Tim Mowry to increase the lead to 5-0.

The Tigers and ValleyCats finish their two-game series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. It's Wrestling Night with a special appearance by WWE legend George "The Animal" Steele. It's also Thirsty Thursday with Bud and Bud Light specials at Dodd Stadium all night. RHP Jake Buchanan (3-4, 3.92) gets the start for Tri-City against RHP Brennan Smith (0-4, 3.54) for Connecticut. ValleyCats Take Series With 3-2 Win

NORWICH-The Tri-City ValleyCats scored one run in the second inning and two runs in the fourth inning to beat the Connecticut Tigers 3-2 before 1,033 fans at Dodd Stadium on Thursday night.

The ValleyCats scored a run in the first inning. C Christopher Wallace hit a single and scored on a double by RF Adam Bailey for a 1-0 Tri-City lead.

In the fourth inning, 3B Michael Kvasnicka singled and scored on a two-run home run by 1B Marcus Nidiffer for a 3-0 ValleyCat advantage.

Connecticut scored a run in the seventh inning. CF Ryan Enos walked with two outs in the inning and moved to second base when 3B Josh Ashenbrenner reached base on an error by Tri-City 3B Michael Kvasnicka.

SS Brett Anderson blooped a double into right field to score Enos and make it 3-1.

In the eighth inning, the Tigers got within one run at 3-2. 2B Alexander Nunez singled and moved to second base on a ground out by C Julio Rodriguez.

1B Matt Perry doubled to score Nunez and get the Tigers within one run at 3-2.

The Tigers welcome in the Staten Island Yankees for the first of a three-game series on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. It's another Friday Fireworks Show sponsored by XtraMart Convenience Stores and Atlas PyroVision.
